how do i make an erst ke jetronic into efi injection thanks

Postby rwd xr2 on Thu May 22, 2008 5:40 pm

i recently brought a erst conversion with everything but i was told by few mechanics that they are not reliable and bugger to start so i decided to convert my erst engine to run efi management rather then ke jetronic of the s2 erst.

how do i do this and i also have a fiesta 1.6 cvh xr2i that i am breaking so can i use any bits off that car

thanks very much

You can use the top end from the 2i as there the same inlet head injectors cam pully you will need a frst engine loom and ecu you need to drill the crank sensor in the block where the gearbox joins under manifold you can use the crank senor from the 2i ive use s2 block and coverted it easly you can use the block out of the 2i as a template

So you drill the crank sensor in the right place i used my old frs block as a template when i used a s2 block

It's a bit of a backward step to be honest mate. Providing it's working properly the KE-Jetronic setup will outperform the EFi setup despite being so crude. Hence why my own S2 still runs it

Go for it be different i can always tell when i hear a s2 go past that has EFI and as your breaking a 2i you have 99% of the parts needed

You need a frst ecu and loom (go for ofab if you can)
frst/2i full head injectors/loom fuel rail , crank sensor frst/late 2i inlet, coil pack & braket , leads, crossover turbo pipe,

You can convert them but it's a lot of hasel i would just get a frst block so you have the crank sensor there that way it will save even more time
