How much are vented Mk3 discs?
I'm looking at putting some XR2i 8v calipers on mine, but my budget is still a low one. What sort of price can I get vented discs for? I've been given varying info surrounding the conversion. Some say it's all a straight swap, some say I need to change arms and things

i believe you just need discs, pads and calipers for the conversion.
^ helpful this time! ^
not sure on prices, think discs are about £20 each from halfords and pads about £15. Performance stuff'll be a bit more
^ usual unhelpfulness! ^

You feeling ok mate? Why are you saying useful stuff?! *Dials 999* Yeah, just found vented discs for £22 odd each, so that's pretty much £50 with VAT, plus pads...and the discs were gonna be £30 plus postage...all a bit much right now gutted

Cheers Andy. Did you notice much difference? Did you just change the discs and nothing else? If it was just the discs, are they vented aswell, or just single thickness?

Heeman -
I changed my pads and discs on my 1.6Si at 70k miles, they're vented ones, i got them from 'Car Spares' (if u have one of those near u),
discs £25.97, pads (AP Lockheed)£10.34! thats a bit cheaper for u!!
i forgot to torque up the bolts on one of the calipers, so i lost a bolt and the 2nd one was so loose the caliper started grinding on the wheel rim
(suppose i shouldnt mention i'm an engineer )

Flippin eck! Dunt sound too good to me! After a long discussion with an FT member, I'm now putting all additions on hold once the central locking and boot release are in until further notice, so even brakes are off the list. Thanks for the story tho! lol

Yeah, that's a great price. But then there's the price of calipers and postage on top...all adding up too much for the moment!
