How much boost can I run?
I have only just brought my FRST and all the work has been done by Power Engineering. BUT I don't know excactly how much boost it is running. I have found a thing from Power Engineering in the car saying it is running 14psi. But I am gonna get a boost guage tommorrow to tell me for sure.
I spoke to a guy a Race Power today and he said if it is running that high it needs to be running beige injectors. I dunno what I am running. I dunno what chip I am running either. It is 165bhp according to the dyno sheet I have. I could ring Power Engineering I suppose.
I want to turn the boost down to 10psi as I am caning petrol and risking reliability. But it is fast at the moment. Is this a good idea or not?

I would have thought it would have been higher than 165bhp if it is running 14psi?
Unless they litterally just upped the boost without working on other areas, head, intercooler etc.
Checking for beige injectors is easy enough, just look at the back of the EFi bit of the engine and you can see them there. Blues are standard and fine for up to 180bhp. Some like GavRST have had 200bhp out of them.
However most seem to agree over 180bhp beiges are better and thats what I am running despite my piddly 150bhp
If you turn the boost down you will need the car setup again as it will be overfueling. This will cost more money and may not be worth it. Power engineering should know what they are doing and would have set it up right for 14psu. I would leave it that way.
If you find it uneconomical just drive it less hard. I find with mine it's all about how heavy your right foot is.

Ian i'm in Gravesend so quite a way from you. But I should be going to Southend soon. Do you ever go there on Saturday nights? There is an RS meet somewhere in Essex tommorrow as well apparently. But I can't make it.
Stoned, Race power said it should be more that 165 @ 14psi. It might be running lower. Need to get the guage to find out I think.
Yeah I think it's due to me only just buying it and just burning it everywhere. I'll see how it goes. I'll have a look for the injectors. Cheers for your help.

Snake, halfway house thats the place. Never been, wanted to go tonight but I play 5-a-side tonight. Is it any good?
I haven't been southend for months, but really want to go soon. Best fill the tank up, it's gonna be a fuel burning experience.
