There 130ps, and around 120bhp realisticly.

Hard to say how much power you can get out of one because it depends on how much you are willing to spend and if you want to go turbo or keep it N/A.

As above. Claimed 130 most I've seen record about 119 to 124bhp. How much you can get really depends on your budget. Bike carbs work well though

N/A on standard inlet - I understand upto 150-155bhp can be had.

I plan on RR'ing mine soon so will hopefully be able to qualify that :)

ok ment non turbo at 1st sorry should of said. i just ment like cams, remap, only because i saw somebody on here say they got 130bhp from a 8v xr2i from cams etc etc. so was just wondering [ERRR] the 1800 was capable of. what kind of power will bike carbs give you. with cams etc etc, also what kind of cost, thanks.

I had one of these it is hard to increase the out put really. bike carb conversion were not really heard of THEN. If you do everything you can exc bike carbs or turbo, you may see 170-180max but thats a fair amount of money needed.
personally id go for rs2000 2.0 150 lump do some work on that and add carbs you could see 200bhp for less money and still room to play.
not sure if st170 would work. This im looking into at mo and will be watch this space.

the 8v cvh in the xr2i is more tunable compared to the 1.8 zetec 16v engine used in the 16v xr2i's and rs1800's

mine has got just under 128bhp with a 4-2-1 manifold with no cat. everything else standard.

bike carbs and cams would be the way forward n/a style, with a good exhaust manifold and exhaust
