How much power from this lot??
hi guys ive just bought an engine with the following spec and im wondering how much power id be looking at from this.
spec list -
top end :
piper adjustable pulleys
piper uprated valve springs
valves recut and reseated
130 zetec cams
exhaust face wielded skimmed and drilled to take escort manifold
inlet and exhaust ported and polished and opened up to match exhaust manifold
head skimmed and pressure tested
spark plugs machined in to head to take smaller plug from cosworth engine
rocker cover powder coated silver
bottom end :
crank has been polished and not been ground
2.1 engine size
comp ratio 7.4.1
low comp mahle pistons
burtons steel rods
A.P.R big end bolts
felpro multi layer metal head gasket
A.P.R head studs
uprated big ends and mains bearings
new ford 1.8 oil pump
1.8 water pump
1.8 pulley flywheel skimmed to get correct clutch pedal heigth
1.8 oil pick up pipe
1.8 sump
block bored out to take pistons
block face decked for comp ratio
oil breather blankt off front
x2 oil breathers drilled and fitted to block
oil return fitted to front to match turbo oil return
oil breather return fitted to sump
floating small ends
all new gaskets and seals
brand new t34 turbo at 16psi using frst ofac management.
any help would be great!!!

I can't see the 130 spec Zetec cams being much if any good in a turbo application. It will largely depend on the tuner that sets it up for you. A decent setup and a rolling road power run and I should think you will see from about 230bhp upwards. So much though depends on the setup and the map the car has.

A Superchip will be no use at all on this engine you will have to have a chip custom written for the car.
As for cams the man you need to speak to is Ian Howell at Area Six. The guy know's his stuff and is a bloody nice bloke to boot

standard 130ps cams are supposed to suit turbo application very well, ive heard of people even using the 105ps exhaust cam to help the turbo spool
