i dont understand (2.0)

Postby curly on Mon Jun 29, 2009 11:54 am

right first off i know that people post silly questions about this all the time, but after reading a few guides, i still dont understand

basicly, ive got a 1.6 8v cvh in my fes at the mo, ive allso got another complete 1.6 cvh in my garage with gear box and what have you,

i have got a 2.0 silvertop out of a mondeo, ive got the maf sensor, some pipes, the engine mount, and a few other lil wires and connectionsand thats about it,

i know im guna have to get inlet, exhaust, sump n pickup of a 1.8 zetec escourt from a scrappy,

what i dont know is, what ecu do i get? and what loom, 1.6 si or 1.8 escort? or use the 2.0 loom??

do i use the 2.0 throtle body, or use the 1.8, do i source a 4th engine mount? cos i keep doing gear box mounts with my 1.6 cvh, and dont want to keep replacing them when i get the 2.0 in,

do i need to put a bigger fuel pump in? will i need to ( im guessing so) put a new radiator in?

the only plus side is, i can see where things go, because my other halfs got a rs1800 so can always pop her bonnet, and look,

oh and my fiestas got power steering, how do i convert it on the 2.0? cos im guessing the 4th mount is going to get in the way with the belt and wud the zetec pump work the same?
i would greatly appreciat some one crossing out the wrong bits on this list, so i know whats right for it

cheers for replys, ive now decided in guna rebuild it and hopefully follow the 2.1 zt guide on the main page of ft,

thinking that instead of just throughing the engine in streight away and it blowing, spending a few G`s and get proper power out of it, and knowing its guna hold it,

ony my way to find a t34 and forged pistons :D
