first mod would be to bin the 1.6 and put a 2.0ltr zetec in instead the have that turbo'd but it will cost u more than 2k to have it turbo'd by a pro.

Yah, turbo if you want, but in terms of value for money, you cant beat the tooleater conversion. I reckon 140bhp is max without serious headwork and other mods. Experts will correct me if im wrong, I'm sure.

I say do it!

I turbo'd my 1.0 and am pushing out 150BHP roughly!!

I will post the graph when i can get a copy of it, but it was 152BHP and 167lb/ft of torque :) to say i was happy with the result is an understatment!!

i put the manifolds from the 1.1 on and custom made the attachments for the T3, i am looking to upgrade to a hybrid at some point to put the power up more!!

I am running a rather intercooler, so this helps to keep the temps down for nice big power :)

The car looks like a standard 1.0 popular as well, so it makes it fun goin through town and pissing off the FRST owners

Ok, your location says Liverpool which is a complete lie as your IP traces back to Malta.

Either you explain why this is and also stop asking questions which have been repeatedly asked in the past or I delete your account and remove all your posts.

BAHAHAHA!

erm, 150bhp from a 1.0? how?
theyre like 50 brak standard, erm so youve tripled that standard power!
thats doing welll saying a 1.6chv is about 95 stock, and with a turbo theyre about 135 with 7psi (all rough numbers!)

what boost ya running at man, about 30psi? not on a 1.0 you aint!
for a start the crank would break with 150bhp, them youve got them tappets, which would have shot throught the rocker cover!

im not saying its NOT possible, but to be fair there wouldnt be much left of the 1.0 engine, and it would cost about 10grand.

so what pistons are ya running? whats the compression at? you using standard crank and rods?

lol magazine figures are just that magazine figures

uve all seen ades 300bhp zetec S poster

Big power gets attention

its like the turbod zetec S in a recent issue of a ford mag they were claiming 300+

if u looked they had a S2 ERST manifold on there

if u read and or ask people about these things you will see why sunny etc dont use a s2 manifold

simply for the reson they cant pass enough gas at that power.

Im not stating that at 300bhp ure manifold wont let you get any more im just saying it becomes highly restrictive !

Tubular is the way

As for a 150bhp 1.1

well push rods carbs and bores and ports so small i could fart more gas into a turbine compressor springs to mind !

Not at all! It's nothing do do with where you're from. It's because you keep asking questions that people have answered before.

Also we keep telling you that turbo'ing a 1600 is pointless and you won't listen! I think more than a few people are getting annoyed...

.. in Fast Ford this month..

Van Aaken Motorsport are doing Turbo kits for Zetecs (primarily for the 1.25 Si's i think). for £1600 fitted..

They use 5psi boost on the standard pistons and get 140bhp from the 1.25 engine!!.. With a T25 turbo too.. Imagine that with different pistons and a few stronger bits and 1 bar of boost ;-).. I reckon you could see 180-200bhp from one of those engines easy..

LOL no way am i using standard crank and rods!! i had them custom made from tungsten steel !! (£££!!!!!!!)

tappets are also custom made strengthend ones,

basically everything is uprated beyond beleif !!
i wanted to do it, even tho everyone said to put in a bigger engine, i stuck to my guns and proved them wrong!!

theres a guy on here who has modded a 1.1 to over 80bhp! this is in N/A form...
there was Ian H who had 400 bhp from a 2.0 zetec... this has pretty much trippled the 136bhp figure from book.... so thats really not an issue, specially as the 1.3 version of the 1.1 block gives about 60-70 bhp so in a way (say it was a 1.3 ) then its only just over doubled... and look at sunnys 2.0 that has way over 300bhp! ( :aviator: ) thast doubled the standard figure....

oh and boost wise... its well over 20psi :) u should hear my dump valve!! :aviator:

yeah but the 1.25 is a rally good engine, and isnt as restrictive i imagine....
thus can get good power from simple mods :) (lol turbo simple  )

like chumkila sad everything is possible but you need money.

i live in Malta, i've seen so many fiestas with turbodiesel and everyone say it can't be tuneable but everything is possible, i got some friends with turbodiesel that made ab 13.3sec quatermile with 140bhp and a 50bhp Shot of NOS,even with a hybrid T3 Turbo.
i used to have a turbodiesel but i tookit out becouse it used to make so many black smoke (diesel) that it makes me sick.

but remember EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE

Just thought id mention ive had over 25psi on my old 1.3 Metro Turbo, even close to 2 bar.
Not permanent... just when the actuator pipe used to pop off after a good caining!

You can run as much boost if your turbo can handle it (Mine was a T3 challenger)...but not for long, [ERRR] thats when the engine goes bang!

Also, you say you had all these custom parts made... but at the end of the day..it was a 1.0.....why? when such good engine transplants will much much more tuneability are available.. especially if you have the cash to have custom cranks n that made!

If money's no object then use 1.8 Turbo diesel pistons. Get the bores hard nickel plated too.

nd also what turbo should i need? an Escort T3 or T25.

Depends on the spec of the engine but I wouls use the IHI unit from a peugeot 1.9 diesel

Would a FRST Ecu be good for my zetec turbo conversion?

No your better off with a carb and the DIS system
