i wanna chip my si!!
i wanna chip my si 16v. i bought it on 64k miles in december now its on 83k miles. does it matter how many miles the engine has done wen u get it chipped?

u can do it as long as the milage is on an even number, if its on an odd number then it will melt the pistons

But... can't you get a whole 2L zetec for the price of a chip for a si? Just a thought...
Regarding the question, if the cars in good shape it will cope as well with the chipping as a newer one.

yes u could but you will also get an increase in insurance premium while your at it.

he is right uneless you take the engine apart a 2ltr looks exactly the same as the 1.6 ! oh if u use the same cam cover also !

its identical, only thing u can tell is the inlet hose size and teh maf, but apart from that it looks like the 1.6 trust me

Maybe.. BUT chipping the car will also increase fuelling..
Basically power to money ratio i would say the 2L engine conversion is MUCH better than chipping it..
I know about looking the same as i sat at Nobles earlier in the year looking at the engine bay of Phil Si

there is no comparison to the fuelling of a 1.6 to a 2.0l.
at the end of the day it comes down to how much money you can afford to insure and maintain the ride.

So u say a 2.0L looks the same as a 1.6 block!!!! out of intrest does phill have his insured? and [ERRR] is it the 2.0L mondeo engine about 130bhp if im right? how much did thw whol install of the new engine cost?
