You're having a laugh!!!
The parts needed to build this spec engine can be bought for less than £5k, and that includes buying new injectors/chip/ 3-bar, even £850 for a balanced steel crank! And it's second hand!
I've got a lot of respect for Ian...he helped build my first 1800 zetec in late '95...but that money for a 2nd hand engine is outrageous!

PS. I'd like to know the full spec...my car puts out similar power and the engine cost me less than £4k (although I used a few 2nd hand parts).

Jeff

Cheers for the rundown Adrian ,,,still think some of the parts are OTT...,especially as Ian would get them at trade price!

Still, when you look at the parts list, you can easily believe the power it makes.

Jeff

Jeff - fancy a head-to-head then...you vs. Ian Howell's FRST? Considering he's only running boost to 5500rpm due to the injectors running outa fuel, and _still_ puts out 340bhp, I think you'd have some v.stiff competition

No probs! I haven't seen Ian face-face for about 4 yrs...had a chat over the internet a while ago when he was describing his mapping problems...be good to meet up.

Just trying to reason out where he would be quicker...0 - 60, I'd probably have him due to my car having more weight and less power (easier to get the power down), top speed would be down to wheel size and gearbox ratios...mine are not standard, so if Ian's are, I'd be quicker, and around a track I'd probably be quicker due to the car having full rollcage, group A suspension and cozzie brakes.

Jeff
