ICE - Rewiring

Postby lukestkd on Mon Dec 17, 2007 5:24 pm

Hi everyone,
Long time since posting last!! How hard is it to re-wire speakers from the heatunit? The standard wiring coming out of the headset has been nackered by the previous owner of my combo (vauxhall - sorry guys :( ) lol So I want to re-wire it out to my new speakers. How hard is it to do? Anyone done it recently?

Cheers

Luke

easy mate...probably take you about an hour or so if that...surely the cable running into the doors is still ok? if so you can make a little extension piece from the headunit to the standard speaker cables somewhere behind the dash...shouldnt be much work in all honesty

Not sure about how the wiring is. Yesterday I fitted a new headunit and it was working fine, but today I can't get any sound from it at all. I've had my own 5&1/4s in for a while now and they're fine, even tried the old speakers up to the wires in the doors and they don't pick up any sound either! Assuming theres a fault with the wiring or the unit, but I doubt its the unit because it was working fine yesterday. Thinking I may need to run new wiring??
