idling problems

Postby Razer on Wed Jul 03, 2013 10:42 am

My engine runs like crap at idle.
when you start the engine it runs at 1500 rpm, also it looks he is misfiring. When that appears the engine will idle to 2000 rpm and it's gone
When revving the engine, the rpm won't drop below 3000 rpm :-?

It's a rs1800 zetec engine, with a ported and polished head, others cams, rover turbo inlet manifold from crazycage and a frst throttlebody, also fitted a 2.0 air mass meter

havn't fitted a idle sensor

It runs on a rs1800 management with a powerchip

i have fitted the air mass meter internals from a rs1800 instead of the mondeo 2.0
Runs better but not good enough, still idling between 1500 and 2000 rpm.

No diffrence with or without chip

try fitting the idle sensor...

Hmm interesting, the fuel pump is an new uprated cosworth one.
I will try to fit another fuel pressure regulator. This one is a rover turbo one, maybe it's faulty.
