Hey babe!!
You dont wanna do that!! NONONO
What you wanna do is run a standard ford wiring loom for the cps and ecu so you use the standard ford ignition - piece o piss and cost effective.

I hail from a fine little hamlet called Sleaford.
It is in Lincolnshire.
What I suggest is to get hold of a fiesta/escort/mondeo zetec loom and cut it about so you only have the CPS,+12v ECU,-12v ECU and the coil pack feeds.
As the ignition curve in the EECIV is static you will need none of the other sensors and the ford ignition will function as normal (I think!).
Gotta be worth a try

are you sure the managment will only provide a signal to the coil pack if the other sensors are not used???

Simon as i have already mentioned to Gaz some of the mk3 festa used dis with carb so this would be easier still the ecu for this is tiny and uses the std coil pack ect. we have this system on our mk3 (shopping trolly at the mo) ((parts needed)) it just seemed like an easier way of running dis on carbs this is what i am keeping when the 1600 goes in to keep it looking std under bonnet... no its a std 1.4 officer!! i still have that intercooler if you are still after one it only needs picking up I don't want anythig for it.

Zetec has no way of mounting a diz, so you're a bit stuck trying to use DIS as I think it also takes a dog from the cam...???
Also, the advance curve won't be right.
I am soooo happy Just met the fittest girl eva!

It was probably a ZVH Turbo, hence the dizzy. There is no Dizzy drive on the Zetec, unless they took a drive off the cam belt of course!!

It cirtainly was a zetec and as you suspect Graham the dizzy appers to run off the inlet cam it almost looks like they have used mechanical injection as well but it is a small picture so its hard to tell.
