I have clear indicators on the front of my car with clear bulbs - they look to flash a sort of orange though, dont know how as there is no orange/amber anywhere in the indicators or bulb!

what type of repeaters have you got?

mine are from the later fista, escorts etc.
what i did was to cut of the plastic clips on the side to leave just the round part that the bulb sits in.
then i took the little black bulb holder and threw it away. i pushed in the existing bulbholder and stuck them on with silicone sealent( making sure they worked first )

hope thats of some use m8

Yeah you need orange bulbs for the MOT. The side repeaters should just slot in one side and snap in the other.

Not exactly a masterpiece is it. As for the side repeaters the haynes manual makes far to much work of this. All you do is:
1. Take a small flat screwdriver and prise out the current repeaters being careful not to damage the paintwork.
2. Twist the repeater to release the clip around the bulb holder (like a light bulb fitting).
3. Pull the bulb out and replace it with the new one.
4. Put the new clear side repeater on twisting to clip the lugs on.
5. Put the repeater back in the square lug first and snap the other side in.

Then just check they work ok. Where abouts do you live, if your close I'll come round and show you how to do it.

is yours the post '94 model with oval indicators?

if it isn't it will have square indicators which simply twist off (clockwise me thinks)

if you have, then the indicators you've got wont fit straight in.
you will have to cut off any plastic clips, remove the terminal block and stick them on

You can buy the orange indicator bulbs from any ford main dealer but i have a feeling they only fit the genuine 94 on indicator bulb holders which only fit the genuine lamps ( the lugs are different.) the repeater bulbs are available from decent accesory shops ..
if you cant get hold of any orange bulbs buy some of the euro headlight amber tint paint. take ur bulbs out of the car and push them thru some cardboard then u can give them several coats of the paint and get a decent colour!
