Induction kit

Postby fiestasimon on Wed Dec 28, 2005 10:33 am

Hiya all,

Making my own induction kit for my 2i.

borrowed a pic of engine bay from mikecvh..(hope u dont mind)

2 ways, ive marked in the pics.

1. single pipe kit?

Image

2. twin cone kit.

Image

will i get any advantages over if i have twin cones and induction pipes. and if i do all the engine changes im going to do..

engine wise, full rebuilt, major headwork done, kent or piper or other cam and pulleys, larger tb, custom made induction system, performance manifold, custom chip, custom powerflow exhaust with 2 7"x3" letterbox style outlets, Lots of chrome/stainless steel bits, bonnet lifters so i dont have to use the crappy stand, samco hoses or equivilent. More i think cant spring it to mind. OH bigger discs and pads with a disc conversion at the back../

Cheers all

Si

just buy a k&N, pipercross, or quikshift one, its easyier and even though its not rocket science to make one you will propabily get better results with a well known brand

dont get me wrong i know what you mean, because i made a manifold for a turbo myself, but its always best to go with quality, the k&n now is tryed and tested if you mad e a mistake it would make your air intake worse, better to go for quality and whats best for your car rather than making your own out of raw materils, if you want to make something thats your own do something with the interior not the engine :aviator:
