Make sure you budget for 3 times what people say they think you will pay ;-)

Anything between £300-£1500 (just labour cost) depending on who you go to. Silly aint it. But prices do vary that much.

As people have mentioned, cost can vary considerably.

Depends what kind of spec you are going for, a poo one:

Std skimemd pistons/spacer, std rod bolts, not much done other than the bare essentials

A reasonably good one:
Forged mahle pistons (86mm) - 2.1 bore - arp rod bolts, shot peened con rods, stage 3 head and turbo to suit.

Or the daddy ;):

JE Pistons, 85mm bore, Steel H Section ConRods, ARP rod bolts, stage 3 head, tubular manfiolds etc etc ;) $$$$$$$$$$$$ :p

In all honesty, I own a sh*t spec 1.8ZVH, yet still tor torque is unbelivable.....my honest advice to you though, if you really want to go through the hassle of fitting a zetec bottom end, do a 16v conversion.

Goodluck either way, you wont be disappointed :Q
