XR2i is group 14.

Why would you think the 16v is a higher group?

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Exactly! :-?

The 16v had 103bhp as opposed to the CVH's 108bhp so it wasn't like it was any more rapid straight from the box. (But a fair bit smoother :) )

Yeah XR2i Group 14, RS Turbo / RS 1800 both Group 15.

Extortionate groups to put cars that aren't even that fast/powerful as standard in, just the fact that they were/are still very popular with the thieving scum/joyriders that they got put into such high groups :x

16v was just a more modern engine, roughly same 0-60 time.
