Insurance HELP!! direct line!

Postby Norro on Wed Jul 26, 2006 10:37 am

:x :x fecking direct line!!

we rang them up on the 19/5/06 and asked fir an insurance quote...
..... the car is registered to my dad, im the main named driver and my dad is the secondary driver.
My dad has his own car which he has 5 years+ ncb....they quoted us £496.65 for a 1.1 fiesta l 5dr, which we both thought was excellent, so snapped it up,

now they're saying that they need proof of my dads no claims on the fiesta, but weve only just got it!!! otherwise they'll charge another £604 ontop! :aaah: :aaah:

is there any way for this to be sorted out back how it was, is anyone in the same boat?

at the end of my tether!!

Norro!

Jesus christ, i hate direct line!!!

I got a quote on my fiesta si as me as the second driver for £1200 with mods :o , which i thought was amazing so went with that.

Then a week later they phoned up and said sorry the quote was wrong, we will not touch you at all :aaah:

So now im going with hyperformance insurance for £2400 a year, cheers direct line :x

If you dad has no claims then his old insurance company will post him proof of the no claims, then send it to direct line :)

So is he planning to carry on with the alfa AND be the main driver on the fiesta?

Well number 1: is he getting a discount for having a second car on the policy, like on the adverts :-?

number 2: how much is it for the no claims to be on the fiesta, and have nothing on the alfa, as you are a young driver this may work out better :-?

If he is the main driver of the fiesta you still earn your own no claims bonus, but it depends on who will use the car more, you may want to try it for when you are on L plates, if you are still learning???

Im just coming up with ideas for you mate,

If all else fails go somewhere else with the fiesta, plenty of companies out there willing to take you on board.

Hope this is of some help to you :)

I know what you mean, endsleigh gave me an acceptable quote of £930 for my 1.1 (me as only driver) but when i phoned them up they decided it'd actually be £1500 since i've only just got my licence. Scummeth bags :x
