Hi guys, I've recently fitted new stereo, SI Interior, alloy pedals, gearknob, handbrake cover, chequer plate mats, and getting ready to fit XR2i body kit & spoiler as well as 15" alloys which have been scattered for a while, will i need to tell insurance company everything and how likely is it to affect insurance costs?

17 Year old first time (hopefully after 13th Oct!!) with Pass Plus etc

I got my first insurance last year at 17, I declared alloys and a body kit, Norich Union at the time were offering 48% discount for pass pluss, after telling them it was modded they said it just took away the pass pluss discount. I ended up paying £1600.

This year though I went with a different company Quinn-Direct and with 1yrs NCB its now £668. they didn't seem to be bothered about the mods as long as they don't disable any saftey features.

I dont think the interior mods will matter, the alloys and the kit are the main things to declare.

The bodykit, interior and alloys you will definately need to disclose. Be warned as it now looks like an XR the insurance company may well near as damn it insure it as one so your premium will rocket.

Really should check with the insurance company before moddifying as it saves you having an uninsurable car sat in your garage.
