All you can do is grab a car mag and start working through the insurers in the back.

At 19 you'll find a lot of companies refuse to quote. Remeber to avoid the useless morons at Admiral/Elephant.co.uk though and you shouldn't go far wrong.

I've never had a problem either.

Admiral insure my FRST for £ 295 fully comp ,which is quite reasonable since i park it on the road and also pay for claims protection. I suppose that would more than treble if i didn't have Max no claims though.

You may get good quotes but in my experience, internet only places like those are more trouble than they're worth IF something happens. These days I go for places that have a good reputation for customer service, it may cost a little more but it's well worth it imo. I was insured with Norwich Union and to cut a long story short, when my renewal came through I'd lost all my NC's unbeknown to me. This took AGES to sort out through their utterly incompetent call centre.

That's because they're useless morons. You get what you pay for, at the end of the day.

Because they are worse than usless if you need to claim. The quote might be good but you soon discover that you are covered for the grand total of sweet FA. You'd do better sticking your balls in a blender

remember with insurance your paying for the service if something goes wrong, so a crap company with a low quote is good if you dont need to claim, but if you do they prove what a complete bunch of retards they really are
ive been with elephant/admiral (same company) and had to claim when someone hit me cos they wernt looking where they were going
copper happened to be driving past when it happened. he didnt see it but it was obvious he was in the wrong as he pulled out infront of me on a roundabout, the copper said not to worry too much cos id have to have a really bad insurance company to not win the claim as it was obvious what happened

i lost :P apparently i was going too fast when he drove into me and totally destroyed the side of my car. the fact that i was already on the roundabout when he pulled out infront of me didnt seem to matter

when i tried to appeal it took them so long getting their s**t together my time to appeal was up

needless to say im not with them anymore

Enough said. They are completely useless.

My sister was with Diamond and was hit in the rear. The car was taken away and a couple of weeks later she received a phone call from the repair centre saying she would have to pay £300 for a new exhaust as Diamond wouldn't replace it as it was a part worn component. This was odd as my brother and I had only fitted a new silencer about a fortnight before teh accident. A phone call to Diamond confirmed this was their standing and they wouldn't budge on it despite speaking to several people there.

My sister told them to leave the exhaust and she would collect the car and deal with it herself (get my brotehr and I to do it  ). The repair centre then told her they couldn't release the car as it wasn't roadworthy and they would be liable.

It was a complete nightmare and in the end we went there took the old (new) silencer away, straightened it out and refitted ourselves.

Diamond were completely useless from begining to end. It all started with a great quote but the second a claim was to be dealt with they were worse than pathetic.

hey just looked on quinn website under the FAQ and this is what i found below,

Am I covered to drive other cars?
Provided you have a full EU licence, most of our policies cover the policyholder to drive someone else's car for third party only cover. Other restrictions may apply, please refer to your policy documents to confirm if this extension applies.

on the document they sent out it said i was covered to drive other cars, so would you please clear this up as i am a little confused i think i am able to i hope so.

thanks chris

If in doubt phone them and ask, I'd put money on it not covering you. Make sure you get it right as even if teh documents are very vague you as the driver are soley responsible for ensuring a vehicle you are driving has adequete insurance cover.
