agromk3 ,what you have just said is not big and not clever and most certainly nothing to be laughing about ,its people like yourself that drive insurance prices up for the everyone else ,not meaning any offence but statements like this just annoy me ,do you realise what the above convictions are that lacojski2005 has on his licence?

get a car off ebay thts had an engine conversion but is still registerd as a smaller car, this will be ideal in your situation, look out for turbo nova's and redtop corsa's
if your handy with the tools or have the money get a conversion done on a car yourself although its nealy always cheaper to buy one thts already been done

Your encouraging people to drive their cars illegally. If your pikey and cant afford the right insurance for your car you shouldn't have it. Full stop.
People who tend to not insure/lie about their insurance are the people who tend to drive like knobs and cause accidents and are most likely chives.
What happens if you crash into some one? Or they crash into you?
It's not cool, not big and will land you in a collosal pile of poo
So i'd retract your above statement

look mate i am only a kid yeah, so insuring my rs was hard but ive done it all legit in the end. im not trying to argue or offend you i mean you have a valid argument and should of sed that first rather than just calling me
i dont mean to encorage anything illegal everyone can make there own desicions its just a cheap option in his situation, nearly everyone drives cars with mods that arnt declared its just stupid declaring everthing like dump valves etc... but not declaring a different engine is serious and if you choose to drive like this i know that i wud be very carfull and would ACTUALY be a safer driver than if i was legit

I disagree completely. There is no arguement either, its right and wrong with a clear line. It doesn't matter if your 17 or 37 the law is the law.
There is only one option and thats the correct option.
As I said if you can't afford it, don't do it.
That is nutsack, a poorly informed guess.
Be my guest, prang your car and find out if your DV makes a difference. I promise you it will. Insurance companies will do anything to avoid paying out.
I bet your thinking to your self... "Why? They don't affect performance"... your right but they do make a noise which makes people know its a turbo'd car, this in turn makes it more attractive to theives and for other people to try and race you. It usually doesn't increase your premium but they need to know its there.
Have you ever thought that if young men did insure stuff properly and drove safely that we wouldnt have such high insurance. Clearly not.

i just used the dumpvalve as an example of how stoopid the insurance situation is for youngsters, they have no choice but to not declare anything say the car is garaged at all times has an alarm and will only do 3000 miles a year
its just a money making scam just the the old bill giving you tickets for window tints and other crap like neons and illegal lights etc...
you may be one person who has declared everything on your car and never broken the law so more power to ya
but i think ul find your the minoraty,
people just need to use common sence wen insuring a car and knowing what you can/cant get away with ...... an undeclared dump valve is definatly something you can get away with you would proberlby even be ok with a different engine just remeber s**t can happen

i thought of doing the same but realized its not worth it. i have fitted a 1.1 engine to my 2i and got the insurance down, still a bit high but thats the price i pay for being a dick when i was 17 no insurance ect ive just bought a turbo engine but its not getting fitted till i have at least 1 yrs no claims, this also gives me alot of time to get the engine spot on and built up

Fully agreed.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

Try some of the following, they are specialists in young and convicted drivers so may be cheaper than you are getting at the moment - I have similar convictions from years ago and these guys ripped previous quotes I had got in half:
http://www.quotelinedirect.com/launcher.asp?INML
http://www.its4me.co.uk/claims-and-conv ... urance.asp
http://fairplayinsurance.co.uk/fairplay/index.htm
http://www.insureyourmotor.com/car-insu ... rivers.asp
here is a list of brokers that you can check by area that may help
http://insurance-broker-directory.com/u ... index.html
Make sure you fully declare everything though otherwise you deserve what you get in life HTH

thats why we are sayin NOT to go down the route of fitting an engine illegally, and to wait till he can. like me i just dropped my engine into my xr2i although its a 1.1 it will do till i can afford to drop the turbo in all by the books insurance dvla ect. No point doing what the lad said aboute droppin a big engine in and not declaring it, youl get caught out sooner or later and you wont have a leg to stand on well yes you will infact youl have 2 as youl end up gettin a ban and have to resolve to a bus and foot
