eddyrst, you just so not got a clue, i got an xr2i for my first car, insured it last year when i was 18, with all the mods declared which includes the coilovers, bushes, brakes, bored engine . headwork, custom cam etc etc, my insurance was 1700quid, but because i have 1 years no claims and still got the same car its dropped to 484quid, he needs to get a smaller engined car probably a 1.1 because i got a quote on a standard one of them when i was looking for my first car and the insurance was 130quid on one of them, so he will be paying over 1500 what ever car he gets due to the convictions,

eddyrst i am 19 years old and i suppose by your statement that makes me old and boring, but at the end of the day if anything happens to my catr i would like to be able to get the money back not get told i aint getting a penny, and its idiots like you or do as you say that i had to pay 1700quid last year, 40%of the insurance premium everybody pays on there car is for people who are uninsured or dont declare mods, which means 680quid of my insurance last year was spent on prats like you :x :x

eddyrst

insuring a car as a 1.1 when its something like a 1.8 turbo is stupid, if you were to get caught speeding in it, or pulled over for a faulty brake light, then i think they'd realise that its too quick for a 1.1, etc. and do you know what the penalty for driving without or with invalid insurance is????? its 9 points on your licence and a heftly fine, possibly even a ban if youve already got points etc.

plus if you crash into someone, your insurance wont pay out for your motor or theirs, so your f**cked, especialy if you get someone who doesnt take kindly to having to lose their no claims cause your not insured.

and like the others said, its people with that kind of attitude that put our insurance premiums through the roof. im young, im only 19, but i bought a 1.1 and drove that for two years(still have it) and waited untill now to put a xr2i engine in, now that i can afford to insure it.
