Intercooler choice

Postby jdfiesta on Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:36 pm

As some of you may know i'm trying to build a budget ZT
Been wondering about choice of intercooler.
Would it be ok to use the FRST Rad an intercooler? bearing in mind i'm only looking at running ~10psi.
been offered a 4wd saff cossie one but that means modifying the lower front bumper to get it on.

any ideas?

lol no, you cannot use a FRST rad as an intercooler :)

Use the 4x4 Saf IC. I used one and they are excellent coolers. It means more work but they are excellent at what they do for those power levels.

This is where I put mine

He's asking if he can use the FRST radiator and intercooler setup on his car Chris :) I'd say you could get by with the FRST intercooler TBH, if you were going no higher than 10psi, but would undoubtedly be better of with the 4x4 cooler.

cheers James, yes i was thinking of using FRST Rad and intercooler. only want to run 10psi so surely it should cope fine with that
Chris, was thinking of putting the cossie one in a similar place, but as it's an Si, it would mean chopping the rear of the bumper, and the lower front panel
