Interior Bulb which one?
hey all, for the mk3 si, which type of bulb is it for the interior light? i want to get a LED but cant find the right size, the bulb is bigger than what other shops are trying to sell me.
also, how do i change the bulb for the demister? the lights in the buttons for the fog lights and front and rear heated screen work but the symbol light for the rear window demister is not working. what type of bulb is it that goes behind there?

The interior light bulb is a bayonet type. fitting an led here wont really have a good effrect as the led will only illuminate across the light fitting from the tip, and not all around the light fitting like an open bayonet bulb does.
As for the demister light, its normally a small soldered bulb with a green plastic cover over it. Bit of a pain to remove but if your handy with a soldering iron then all the four bulbs can be uprated to an led. just take the fitting to someone like maplins. Make sure you measure what voltage is going to the bulb as if its 12v and you buy a 3v led or one without a resistor then ill will pop it.

thanks for the input, will sort out a custom panel led build for the interior light, will not bother with the demister light too much hassle for what its worth I think.

You can buy an led light conversion setup. This allows a panel led to be used in place of the bayonet fitting. Im using them, and running the wires over the rooflining aswell so i can have two interior lights , as the recess is there to add a rear light into the rooflining.
