ipod converters for in car

Postby MarkRS2K on Mon Jul 31, 2006 8:41 pm

ive got a pioneer cd headunit, its been in the car for a while so obviously doesnt have the ipod socket like the new ones have.

so my question is, does anyone have any experience with an ipod converter, been told you can get ones that plug into the cd changer socket at the back of the headunit and then the other end plugs into my nano?

or does anyone use anything else?

all the adaptors available are pretty much on par now, and if u cant get one that plugs directly into your head unit , there is FM modulator style ones where it goes inline on your aerial and you basically tune it to a station preset, only thing with this is that you have to operate the ipod on its own where as with most of the plug in jobs you control it through the head unit like you would a changer, or if you have aux inputs on your stereo you could use a jack plug to rca lead and plug it from the headphone output on the ipod to the aux in on your stereo

hope that helps

Ive just got this from HMV for £30quid.

Its made by logic 3 and its a base unit so you can control your ipod with a remite.

Ive also got a cd/mp3 cable which plugs into a home audio system but im just gonna plug it into my head unit insted.

Ill let you know how i get on later :D
