Yes it's possible.

You'll need a two or four channel channel amp depending on how many speakers you want to use though and a switch or something to turn the amp on and off using the remote wire.

From there just connect your ipod to the amplifier using an RCA lead with the appropriate connection for the ipod.

But there you have it, a rough guide on how to have tunes without a head unit :D

What I've got is an FM transmitter (you can get them for a tenner from your local computer fair), and my ipod cable, both running into a double cigarette lighter socket. I have an extension lead on the FM transmitter and the ipod is connected to the dock. It's perfect sound quality and even charges your ipod!

CIG LIGHTER ----------- USB CONVERTER----------IPOD CABLE-------DOCK
____________\----------FM TRANSMITTER-----AUDIO EXTENSION----DOCK

All hidden away behind the glove box, so all you see is the dock, which I hide in the glove box when I'm not using it. I'm going to cut a small flap into the dash so I can leave the dock there all the time and just sit the ipod into the top of the dash. Works perfect. Plus if you're in convoy, other people can tune into the same frequency and share your tunes!!

EDIT: Plus only costs £20 (for the transmitter and ipod dock)
