i have heard people saying that if you just replace the springs on your car it will fudge your original shocks and wear your tyres easier and other things, i cant personaly see this being true less they would advise you on this happening, so is it true

true. but it depends on age/condition of your shocks and whether they were slightly uprated ones to star with, ie rst dampers. It also depends on how much you are lowering by i think possibly up to 40mm you can get away with standard length dampers.
basically cos lowering springs are stiffer the shox can't cope and you can get a gmax kit for about £180 which is worth it if you've got old dampers

dampers control the movement of the spring, lowered spring kits come with shortened dampers, cos suspension is only truely effective when they are 50% compressed when fitted, this gives the same travel for both in and out when compressing and expanding.

Sooo standard dampers (i.e longer ones) might have to be compressed further to match the length of the spring, which cld lead to wear or bottoming out in extreme circumstances.

think im right lol i hope ive explained it reasonably well
