Is the z-s beam stiffer than a normal mk 5 beam?????????????
Ok so the mk 5 rear beam comes in the fork type and the other type (the one to fit mk 3 suspention)
I HEARD the zetec-s beam is acctually stiffer than normal mk 5 beams (although it looks the same) and has a different part number to. Can someone please tell me the part number for it!!
Thanks
Tom

I've got a Zetec S one in the garage but its right at the back behind a car, a petrol tank and an engine/gearbox and I'm not well
If you look in the thread about MMo's Type-R having them fitted i'm sure Mark (Excursion) said that the mk5's were exactly the same beam.

I'm going to throw a spanner in the works!
I have three different types of rear beam in my workhop!!!
I will grab some photographs tomorrow.
Its worth mentioning, the ka uses the same rear beam. The sport Ka variant being almost identical to the Zetec S.

I think Thumbs used a Sport Ka rear beam on his as it has a slightly narrower track to allow him to fit rear discs and 18s
Microcat only lists one rear beam for the Zetec S.
Rear Beam Fiesta Sport Series 02/2000 onwards FINIS:: 1105239

Pisko :anny decent welder could weld on a similar metal plate on a original rear beam, and in theory make it, at least, stiffer then they where original.
Yeah well true, i welded my orignal up. No twist in it at all.
