wrong section to post but its not really mate, people get quoted that much on a 1.1 it all depends on what area you live in and where the car is kept overnight check this site to see how good or bad your postcode area is

1st off, this should really be in the insurance section of the forum.
Does your fiesta have any modifications that you have told them about?
Insurance for 17 year olds is getting more and more expensive. The price is probably right, but you may be able to get a cheaper quote by shopping around.

mate my 1.2 corsa @ 17 cost me nearly that much so your quote aint to bad, a good way to bring it down quit a bit is to put your mam on as a named driver on your policy as long as she has no motor covictions & been driving for a while ect should bring it down by about £500
i know the feeling with high insurance but mines my own fault refuse to own a standard smell engined car now
hope this helps also try elephan.co.uk there pretty good for insurance quotes .

It doesn't surprise me at all. My brother paid £1600 to insure a 1.2 Nova at 17 and that was with Pass Pluss. Was 7 years ago as well

IF you are the main driver of the vehical you cannot be a named driver on the policy. If you try to buck the system this way your parents are commiting the offence of insurance fronting.

On a happier note I got my insurance company to knock a quarter off my renewal price today just by phoning up and complaining.

My first year was £1200 on a 1992 Fiesta 1100 L. That was eleven years ago and with a Pass Plus, for all the good it did.

I was £1404 on my 1.1 fiesta for the first year, then went down to £599 for the next year, halfway through upgraded that to fully comp on the new fez and its gone up to £900. Not bad really for a years no claims at 19...

Re: is this right ??
u have to say all these 17 yr old [ERRR] the insurance is gonna be dead cheap but its not ur at risk even i n a 1.1 cus u r a new driver to the road and ppl who have modified there cars at 17 guearentteed will be paying even more insurance on a caR THAT is only worth 200 the insurance is a rip off beacause of the boy rqacers going round speeding increasing premiums for us and it aint fair on ppl who have to pay the price
