iscv problem

Postby rich1987 on Sat Sep 14, 2013 9:08 pm

right not had my frst running for a few months while I sort out the fuelling system, went to start it today and was idleing high and the revs would drop really slow so unplugged the iscv and car and the revs drop and car acts normal so thought I would clean it out following jays guide on here but decided to test the solenoid first, now when I turn the ignition on I can feel the solenoid click but the bit in it doesn't move inwards does this mean its f**ked? or is it something else? cheers

they can be problematic so if you have a spare or can find one, try another.. or you have a air leak somewhere

I would say check ft air leaks also.

Also disconnect the battery for a few mins and try again, this should reset the ecu, and it should hunt while it sets its base idle again.

Could also be a TPS problem?

Right i found acouple of leaks which are now sorted, disconnected the battery and tried again, it now idles just about right but it you rev it it takes again for revs to drop down and after that it revs up and down on its own, if i unplug the iscv its fine does this mean the iscv is nackered? Cheers guys

Sure there's no more leaks on the inlet?
Could be a potential TPS fault??

I have come across a could of fiestas with the iscv unplugged before and the owners drove them around like it...

Dunno if I said before, but wd40 in the sensor plugs to rid any dry joints is a good move, even if it doesn't solve the problem it can be ruled out

Laugh out loud na I'm the same mate, it's there to do a job so it's gotta be working.

Another thing it could be could be the temp sensor in the underside of the inlet, as this tell ths ecu what temp the coolant is at and thus the ecu controls what the ISCV does, so if the sensor is telling the ecu the engine is a temp it's not, it will hVe a effect on what the ISCV is doing and how the engine idles

Well i stripped it off cleaned every little bit so it was spotless and sprayed the connection with wd40 new gasket and work beautifuly now thank god starting to piss me off, got fuel problem now tho, car revs mint standing still but as soon as get turbo pressure around half a bar the car wont rev, im pretty sure fueling problem but not so simple as ive put all new fuel system in, alloy tank in boot with lift pump swirl pot bosh 044 pump teflon steel braided hose with regulator (set at 2.5) after the rail, smells like its over fueling me thinks gotta go to someone for a set up again
