I get ADSL2+ from O2. They use the BE hardware so you'd have to check if your local exchange has been BE LLU'd.

They're a very good price for the speed though, although obviously you'd still have to pay the BT line rental as well.

I work for Virginmedia mate, and they have this offer at the moment, called Mates Rates.
I haven;t read the details, and I assume its only to people who have access to the Virginmedia 'OnNet' service. So basically if we have supplied a feed into your street.
I know no more about the whole promotion, but if you want me to forward your details, let me know. Either via PM or I can give you my email address (via PM). I'll then forward your details on to the correct dept, who will call you.

Here's an email we are supposed to forward to anyone we'd like:

****************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Hi (Mates Name)

As my best mate, Mother, friend (delete as appropriate), I wanted to let you know about our brilliant new staff offer I can now get at work which means I can share with you some of the benefits of working here! At last!

It's a half price Virgin Media cable offer on the best products we have including:

TV with V+ (like sky plus), multi room and all the channels you could wish for
20 Mb fibre optic broadband (that's fast & reliable!)
Home phone with international & mobile calls included
FREE installation if you sign up in May
All this for just £33.50 a month instead of the usual £67, when taken with e-billing on a Direct Debit. I bet that's less than you pay at the moment!

If you're already a Virgin Media customer you can enjoy the fantastic Mates Rates monthly discount too, even if you're already on XL Plus or VIP.

How does this deal compare to Sky's prices?
Well, have a look at our price comparisons below, and find out why you really are better off on Mates Rates!

Sky 6 mix £21.50

Sky 16Mb £10.00

Sky Talk Unlimited £15.00 incl. line rental
Total £46.50

Our price of £33.50 also includes the V+ fee which would be an extra £10 for Sky+HD customers.

Virgin Media Mates Rates+ Sky Sports
= £33.50 + £19
= £52.50 (including Setanta)

Sky pack+ Sky Sports
= £46.50 + £18
= £64.50 excluding Setanta, or £76.49 including Setanta

Virgin Media Mates Rates+ all Sky premium channels
=£33.50 + £26
= £59.50 (including Setanta)

Sky pack + all Sky Premium
= £46.50 + £24.50
= £71 excluding Setanta, or £83.99 including Setanta

If you're interested, I just need your address, postcode, email address, current account number if already on Virgin Media, home number & mobile. I will register you, and then you'll get a call from one of our team within 28 days to sort it all out. It's really easy to switch and well worth it as you will get the best package at only half the price. Cool huh! And no I am not getting paid to sign you up!!!

Anyway just wanted to let you know. It's only open till the end of June so email me back before then if interested!

Hope all is well

(Your Name)

I keep getting Virgin flyers through the door advertising all these fantastic deals on packages and fast broadband. Which is great, except there's no cable in our area.

I think they do it deliberatly just to tease us.
