Got given a 1.8 130 for free, low millage, good condition, so hav decided to slot it in my si instead of a 2.0, and gunna stick it on the 1.6 box when i do it in about a week.

What i need to know is, how do you increase the low down torque? all zetecs, evan the 1.6, seem to pull great from 3k onwards, but how can i make it pull better lower down, or is a 2.0 the only way to do this. ???

id prefer to stick with the 1800 lump as i have it to hand

Usually a bigger discplacement deals with bottom end torque but you could fit a 4-2-1 manifold that should help do the trick

I de-cated mine, worked a treat. That and the exhaust increased my torque figure by 20lbft. That was from a before and after rolling road. But this didnt increase low down torque, It still peaks max torque at 4500rpm. I would agree with getting a 4-2-1 manifold. Thats my next step. :D :D
