Ello guys

just a small one,

i know a few people have said about putting 6.5s up front in the mk3 and about cutting away the metal, but that takes away the holes for the door pocket,

just wondering if it will do the same with 5.25`s

i have got adapters but these the speakers ive got wont fit in them, there 5.25 but got a bigger area round them so they dont quite set in the adapter,

before i go cutting the metal out tomorrow, do you think its possible with these ?

i dont want to put any pods etc in there because i want it all to look standard, but then when it comes to how it sounds it will be a different story

Thanks

Im fairly certain the adaptor plate Autoleads make is designed to fit 5.25" speakers in the doors. I had a set of Kenwood Dualmags in the front of my old Mk3, fitted them with the Autoleads plate and had no problems at all, cleared the door metalwork and the internal door pocket nicely, sure they were 5 1/4" :)

There are certain 13cm (5.25") speakers that won't line up with the adapters. My sony xplods did nicely, but then I changed them to alpines and they're miles out so I superglued them to the adapters

If you want 6.5s you will need to to get custom doorpods. even if you cut away the door they still won't clear the window.
