K & N Air Filter on Si

Postby Slate on Tue Jun 03, 2003 10:40 pm

Sorry if this is a question that you've all answered a thousand times b4, but will a K & N air filter make much of a difference to the performance of me Si?

also, is it likely to change me insurance that much? (im with lloydstsb)

thanks :)

The answer to your question is no it wont make any difference what so ever, may increase response but not an awful lot. Also you have to take into account the warm air from your engine *may* decrease performance if you decide on such a peice of kit.

You would probs be better of drilling holes in your air box and replaceing the element with a K&N panel filter

Have to agree aswell, i got 5bhp from filter and zorst!! Picks up, much quicker, sounds much nicer that the drilled box!! If your that worried about engine heat, fit ducting, and or a heat shield.
