K&N induction kit

Hi Fiesta freaks,

Greetingz from the Netherlands.

I recently have bought the '92 mk3 fiesta, 'Calypso' edition with a 1.3 HSC 8v engine from my grandfather. It has got central doorlocking, sunroof, electric windows and only 47000 km (29400 miles) runned. :grin:

Last week I upgraded the car with a full exhaust system from the Italian Supersprint.
(2inch straight pipe [alternativo] with only an endmuffler). This sounds pretty loud! :devil:

Now, enough chit-chat. Is there an induction kit (K&N, Pipercross) available for my car and has anyone experiences with these?

By the way, I know it wouldn't give we a great power gain, but I think it would sound better.

Greetingz, and keep the rev's high!

Hello from Scotland :smile:

Does your car have fuel injection ?? you can only fit induction kits to fuel injected engines.

I also had a Supersprint exhaust, it sounds good, BUT my exhaust only lasted 2 years!! :eek:
Supersprint are not cheap and i expected it to last longer.........you have been warned

HCS=High Compression Swirl(i think)

Cfi is fords single point injection, it fits and looks like a carb, but it aint, fitted to all CAT OHV cars(ford)..

Yes, you are right.
The engine is a 1.3 HSC monopoint injected and standard it produces about 60 BHP.

I believe Ford still uses this engine(concept) for the Ka and Fiesta Mk5, only it is multipoint injected. They are pretty reliable (as they told me).

Well, do you guys have any ideas to 'refine' it?

Or do I just have to swap it with a 1.6 Tubo engine and gearbox (and brake system, suspension)?!
