k&n on fiesta si

Postby james.alexander on Mon Jun 30, 2003 2:20 pm

i was thinking of puting a k&n on my fiesta si, but noticed that in the standard air filter there is a hole in the bottom of the casing, this goes down to the exhust manifold i believe. Surely if i remove the standard filter and replace it with a k&n it will connect only to the air flow sensor end and will just leave a hole down to the exhaust manifold. Has anyone got a k&n on an si that could help or does the k&n come with an extra pipe that connects to the bottom of the old filter, also how afective is the k&n filter at improving the car.

oh yeah and it'l only really make a difference with a full sys exhaust [ERRR] it's sucking in more air so needs to get rid of more gases

Does make a slight difference but not a huuuuge amount.

Decatting the standard exhaust along with an air filter will make it more responsive though, and the exhaust will sound a lot better without being loud, but you'll fail a roadside emissions check.
