K reg emission laws

I currently have a K reg fiesta (1.1 cuz of insurance :sad: ) I know that cuz its a k reg i cant put in a rst engine because of the emission laws but was wondering if i could put in a zvh instead??? If not i want a turbo later on down the line so what options do i have?? thanxs

there are k reg turbos about and theres a ka [ERRR] a erst lump in it ther are leagal ways arrouned it i think if u can prove the engine is out of an older car they have 2 test it as that years emissions not 100% sure but worth a try

Well i know that ford had to stop producing the rst because of the laws and started to produce the RS1800. I know it sounds bad but i like the look of the rst. The RS1800 isnt really a show piece! So thats why i was wondering if the zvh was emission ok.

These friggin laws really piss me off!!

yep def the vents change the whole look of the car, and the black interior on the 1800 makes it look soooo retro :lol:

I think its, if your car with orgininal engine has CAT then the new engine needs one..

Mines a 'K' reg 1992, if its a 'K' reg 1993 then it has a cat and cant pass without one..

emmissions go by the older of the 2 ie car age or engine age, the problem being proving the age of the engine @ mot time. not sure about the cat but would of thought the same goes ie pre 92 engine no cat? check with a test station or dvla office where you get kit cars checked
