Re: My RS1800 Track car, Carbon roof is here !!!
Quick update before Carbon Sunday
Visted James @ For-Tune today for a pre Combe rolling road, (cheers buddy )
and it made reasonable power , Last time it was way down with only 108bhp
but after I have fitted a new temp. sender and my cheap air filter off e-bay she came in @ 120.8 bhp, which I was pleased with as the fueling was much better, not bad for 120k,
so no stopping me now
Paid for my 2.0 Zetec while I was down there and hopefully picking it up on Wednesday
Had my 2 sets of Morettes turn up today so the best set will be fitted tomorrow.
also travelled upto Swindon tonight to collect a pair of doors and a front bumper for Luke
My alloy battery tray turned up today as well the postman must love me
A few pictures from today and if it works a vid of my RR run
Car got really salty on the way down but shes all clean again now
big big update tomorrow evening guys

Good to see you this morning Shaun, even if I didn't notice you'd lost 20% of your body weight since your last visit! Impressive! You can't blame me though, you could've hidden a GeForce Junkie under that jumper! It's satisfying to see running issues resolved by replacing such cheap, yet important components such as coolant temp senders. Power, torque and fuelling are all exactly where they should be now, so it was definitely worth your efforts and your trip up. My eyesight is still slightly impaired after the dazzling interior!

Good result, shame I couldn't make it over this morning. Had the dash out the shed earlier, but noticed it had holes cut in for tweeters and looks like crap. So may as well just go in the bin.

Im sorry those mirrors should be on a F1 car. They look silly. Get a cheap set of standard mk3 jobbies on there. They lighter than mk3.5

Sorry guys the mirrors are staying
And Olly, and could of said it yourself
Well I was going to fit the roof today, but after seeing the snow and temp.drop today I abandoned it until next weekend, cutting it fine for Combe now though
I have however painted my Morettes ready to go on, pictures later
Henry, launch control isn't fitted yet, but will be before Combe fella
Gary, Yeah I was there when you rang
120bhp I'm happy with, I have really concentrated on the handling up to now,
I'm fitting harder springs before Combe

Cool i can hear the rev limiter in the rolling road video, did you find it easy enough to fit?

Tried my small battery in its new home
this will be fitted before Combe
I'm taking 3 days off the week after next, just to get it all ready for its big day out @ Combe

A quick add up gives me £3655
But this includes Carbon roof and yet to be made bonnet which is just over £1k
Pro-alloy fuel cell is included as well.
3 sets of wheels/tyres
Coilovers only cost me £20 net after selling my old suspension
plus everything else on it I can remember
