Re: My RS1800 Track car, K18 UFO, adjustable top mounts
After pestering Luke something rotten, (cheers buddy)
I managed to pump enough info out of him as to how the hell I did these
So I bought a universal set from E-Bay last week and a mate of mine in my local RS group has machined them down and drilled the holes for me.
I've gone for 24 holes so thats 8 different settings
I now need to have the upper part (which these fix to) custom made by another mate, who is also going to weld them in for me.
Hopefully if I pull my finger out it might be next weekend.

Once they are made I will let you know on cost fella
Well, not at lot more progress atm, I have given the measurements for the upper top mount parts to the bloke thats making and fitting them for me,
I'm really now just waiting for a phone call to say load the car up and bring it down for them to be welded in place, Until that happens its come to a bit of a halt
But, I'm painting my Orange wheels a more "grown up" colour over the weekend
Also, Cleaning various engine parts in preparation for the re-fit.
I have hopefully overcome another potential problem, my mate has lightened the flywheel, and in doing so he removed the timing grooves from the rear of the wheel, good for the flywheel but not so good for the timing
I was thinking for fitting a trigger wheel to the crank pulley, but after talking to Steve (Captain Tightpants) he suggested a Focus ST170 timing disc that fits behind the flywheel, this enables me to fit the CPS in its usual place. Hopefully Steve has one I can have
Plenty of pictures will follow, once the top mounts are welded in the engine bay can then be painted, I'm also doing the complete underside as well as the wheel arches all at the same time.

But yes, White, Peoples thoughts on a White body with Carbon roof and bonnet please.

na i dont, if you had come down the front when i was there i would of got you them 2 pints i owe ya, would of even chucked in a 3rd for free too
colour change, hmm, although i like red, i wouldnt of said red.
white though, all jokes aside and that, na, not white mate.
if you gunna pay out for a paint job get something thats gunna stand out, a non standard colour too.
me, i say leave it the colour is it, i like it mate
if you must go white, then the kits got to be black for sure, i said it to john when he done his and he wasnt sure till he done it and it did look good.
yours, black kit inc bumper, then the carbon roof, bonnet and black quad lights, hmmm, i could agree to liking that but i have pride and that so, no white will look crap

Re: My RS1800 Track car, K18 UFO, adjustable top mounts
You never mentioned that when you text me
I would of driven straight down
Well, atm its only a thought,
I would only do it a standard RS1800 colour tbh,
I'm trying to keep some of its original identity,
I'm currently thinking white with a satin black interior,
problem is then keeping it clean, dark colours do hide the dirt
We shall see
