Carbonboy67 : lost at least another 2kg today
Been on the exercise bike again, or just all that polishing?!
To be fair mate, this is moving along so fast - I remember just after you bought it & what it's like now & it's crazy! in that time all I've done to the zt is order some shiny bits, wash, polish, wax etc & take it to For-Tune & back
I think the super T's are the right colour choice aswell, really goes with the look of the car.
Cheers.

Its so bloody annoying. I work on my car, get really exited about how much I've got done, come on here and you've done more than me and built a small light aircraft in the same time scale.

Do these fuel tanks effect the COG much? Breaking, handling etc... That tank according to my (probably wrong) calculations takes 34liters or there abouts, which is a fair bit of weight moving higher up in the car? I take it they are baffled better (internal sponge?). Genuinly inrested why your getting this over using the standard tank!

Re: My RS1800 Track car, Pro-Alloy fuel cell !!!
I can't answer all your questions but Luke has posted some of the answers in his post.
The tank will only be ever be half-quarter full when on track,
yes that weight is shifted slightly higher but only by about 125 mm,
but when I have my 350lbs springs on the front and 600-700lbs ones on the back, it ain't gonna move much
I got it at a good price, delivered
and I suppose it does look rather nice as well, compared to the rusty original one

Re: My RS1800 Track car, Pro-Alloy fuel cell !!!
Yes mate, it would of been spent within the first month
I will sit down one night and add up what its cost me so far,
I reckon including the cost of the car around £2k to date, which isn't that bad tbh,
not counting endless hours at weekends working in sub zero temperatures
But when I'm out on track its going to be so worth it
Just over 3 weeks till my first outing !!!!
I better get a move on

The reasoning behind the incar tank is for safety issues. If the car is to but (hopefully not) come of track into a gravel pit the standard tank underneath the car could pierce and fuel onto exhaust etc etc. So incar tank solves all of these issues and with being located centrally in the comfort of being surronded by a cage, its safe as ever.
All the details above state the spec and internal features, yes it its baffled and yes it has an internal collector which has 3 way check valves to allow fuel into it in 3 differnt sides this stops fuel escaping on hard cornering etc.
As for weight yes it would be better for centre of gravity if lower but as shaun stated its only matter of inches higher, and you cant have your cake and eat it tooo

Well I don't think the tank will be in for the 19th of April but will deffo be in for the RS day in July
Hopefully the Carbon roof will have been fitted
private plate going on Monday
Rear polybushes on tomorrow
front polycarbs should be in,
front strut brace will be on as will the race battery
Should have the launch control
Hopefully have my harder springs on as well
Pictures will follow tomorrows progress

Re: My RS1800 Track car, Pro-Alloy fuel cell !!!
nice car goo job keep it up, tank is nice i like the way they do the access point in the top, however i disagree wih there fuel collector system is just simply doesn't work on high powered cars- meant to work instead of a swirl pot i think but it just dont seem to do the job... my tank is gonna be using few simple yet clever tricks.

Re: My RS1800 Track car, Pro-Alloy fuel cell !!!
Luckily, my car isn't high powered yet
Did a few jobs today, weather was awful
Polybushed the rear arb,
need to do beam and shock tops but got to get new bolts for the rear beam, and will do the shock tops ones when my harder springs go on within the next couple of weeks
Also put my latest set of rear lights on
what do you all think.
Standard as I bought it
With euro n/s light
And my latest ones which I think look awesome
not normally a fan of these but think they look so good against the colour of the car.
Did some lightening inside, radio out, aerial removed, rear washer pipe removed,
plus other bits and pieces, will be doing my cam-belt and leaking water pump in the week,
ready for my trip to Fortune next Saturday

No idea about the lights, as long as they work! Have you weighed both sets?!?
Loving the look of the tank though. I like the way that there are some seriously good parts going on some of these fiestas lately. Makes it worth checking in the gallery forum! Makes a nice pleasant change.
I salute you mr carbonbottom.
