This is very true fella, I got lots still to come off it,

but theres only so many hours I can work on it atm.

So I'm concentrating on getting all the important bits done first,

before really getting stuck into it with the air saw

Get it fitted Shaun. I wanna see how its done. I'd only end up taking too much material off, like with my MK5 dash conversion  I've got a little twist I'm adding to my roof. All I'm saying is.....RA?

Do not even think about fitting a roof vent to that carbon roof you numpty :P

No in all honesty it will ruin it fitting a vent/flap to it.

Love it. I'll wager its heavier than the paper thin Ford roof skin, but it certainly looks the part :D

I'll wait and see if you get any cracks at the edges but it's something I've wanted from the word go. Can you ask the chap to make a sunroof version? In fact I might buy one of these and cut it, then bond in the sunroof part from my roof and pain it black!

What's the mark up for one?

yes mark they retain the standard roof rails so where the skin joins the roof its hidden. He could do a sunroof version i'm sure but if would have to make a new mold etc, would be easier to put the sun roof in yourself i should imagine. The price is £395 i beleive but worth every penny in my opinion.

it does look good that for sure, and it will be good to see it on the car :aviator: but i cant help thinking that the £395 would be better invested on an engine conversion or something, to make the most of your money. thats just my thoughts though.

£395 could have bought you a standard ford roof skin and paid for the bodyshop to paint it...

Which one is more suited to a track car though for both looks and function :D

:D

Another day closer to fitting it

Henry, I was going to have to do something about my roof anyway,
its quite rusty around the sunroof, and I also wanted to lose the sunroof due to its weight and the fact the gutters discharge into the sills which is the daftest idea Ford ever had
I didn't want to just rivot on a piece of alloy as its a part show car as well. :aviator:

So my options were either buy a new non sunroof roof skin or go with Luke and get a Carbon one made, The roof skin was over £240 + fitting and spraying so near £500 all told.
Well I know which one I prefer for the money

I'm developing the car quickly, I'm picking up a 2.0 black top next week, so want to have that in place in the very near future, A full re-spray in Pacifica will also follow this year :Q

Thanks for all your comment guys good/bad or negative,
we are the first to do this I believe, so its a learning curve for us all :)

Matt, the second option

Dub, once the car has had a bit more done to it I will have it weighed again,

currently approx 840 ish kg and hopefully near its standard 130bhp

Once roof, front electric windows plus other bits are dumped I will.

Well today it was mainly functional things done, new water pump and new cambelt kit was fitted by myself :D

Never done a Zetec cam-belt change before so it was a bit of a learning curve,
but its all done now and ready for my rolling road appointment on Saturday with the For-Tune guys :aviator:

Took a few pictures because it was a nice day :D
