Re: My RS1800 Track car, Race battery and launch control fitted
That is one dinky little battery! So that's a 13kg saving by removing the old batter and tray and fitting the smaller battery?? How much did the old battery and tray weigh?! And how long did it take you to sweep up all the bits of rust to weigh them in with the rest of the tray?

Re: My RS1800 Track car, Race battery and launch control fitted
No I won't forget Jay
Old battery was 15kg + at least 1kg for the old tray, new dry cell battery is just over 2kg
so at least 16kg removed from the front end and just 3kg max (with new tray) added in the middle

Do you still have the arch liners in with the 16's? any issues with them after trimming the arches to fit the wheels?
And what size is the number plate on front?

Henry, not yet fella
Paul, still got arch liners in no issues after showing the arches an angle grinder
Number plate is a very large 300mm x 75mm
Muz, and all others who expressed an interest in the battery,
Your looking at about £60+ vat for them.

ooo may have to fit some arch liners back into mine then, I had them trimmed and it made them worse, but seeing as yours are fine there should be no reason why mine wont be
where did you get the plate from? need one for the project car with the bumper cutout, lets hope the cops dont get arsey about one being that small

That would be a Jcb clamp.
Holds stuff together by pulling the trigger.

Looks good Shaun
im looking forward to seeing this sat.
did you thing cutting the battery tray out was a bit of an arse of a job. because when i did mine i was getting frustrated because it would only come off leaving a horrid surface under it. good ol angle grinder came straight out.
how light is that battery ???

Hey shaun, long time no speak
You've come a long way in a short period of time, i wish i had the time to devote to mine as well.
I would also be very interested in one of those lightweight batteries at £60+vat. I'm in no rush to have it fitted and all that (stuck in Afghanistan for another 5 months ) but cash is available when needed so i can have it waiting for my return. Does your mate supply the battery cabling too by any chance?
