rs_brammer :Very nice set-up you've chosen Shaun that should give ultimate reliability with bags of fun

Exactly what I'm after mate  , Makes me laugh at track days when guys with huge horsepower go flying past you, then only to see them do a few laps before something breaks

So bhp wise I should be looking at around 165ish until the next stage of head and cam upgrades.

But its the noise I'm really looking forward to

Been out this morning and stripped a few parts off the 2.0 ready for painting,

I'm sorting a baffled sump out through a mate of Heemans,

Ordering a rather nice exhaust manifold within the next week or so as well.

Really want to push on with this now as I want to see some track time with this set up later in the year :Q :Q

More progress today guys :D

Front polycarbs with sliders are in, as are the rear side ones,

I bought a full set off of Luke so fitted all but the rear one as they were the same.

Image

One small problem was Luke is only a fair weather driver
and decided to cut some vent holes in the rear sides, you can also see the hole for the Pro-Alloy fuel cell which will be fitted soon.

Image

Because I drive my car in (virtually) all weathers,
I needed to sort a way of stopping the rain coming in through the holes.
I left the protective film on so it could been seen easier

Image

Then drilled and bolted it in place, can be removed in a couple of minutes when needed :aviator:

Image

Also made one for the other side and one for the fuel filler hole.

this is what I removed :o

Image

Which I'm going to put on E-bay later tonight

Also painted my rear bonnet pins black as they were chrome and stuck out like a sore thumb

Image

And one more, a quick roof shot :Q

Image

So next week, I'm painting the 2.0l block and getting a few bits ordered for it,
so over the next few weeks it will be slowly put together awaiting the transplant

So this is now how it will be for FITP :D

I saw a rallycross car today and thought of you. The doors on it were locked by a pin at the top, they dont have door catches. I dont know if they are a good idea, the door catches might weigh a bit though.

Are you not having a servo mate? Do you know if it's MS1, or MSII?

Cool, I just couldn't see a take off on the manifold.

V3.3 is just the PCB bud. The CPU is either V1 or V2. Open the top cover and post a pic dude. :)

ms-1 is where you can see the big black chip in the center of the board.

ms-2 is where ther is a piggy back board with a chip on that connects to where the big black chip is

As Smo says, MS1.

The MS1 was the earlier cpu. The later ones have a few more features/faster fuelling control has 100 times more resolution on the MSII. http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/index.htm

Don't know what you were told, but thats an early PCB too. V2.2

Thats E-bay for you

I see I can upgrade for about £50 to the MS11, thats gotta be worth doing.

Is it possible/worth upgrading the pcb as well guys? if so what the advantages of doing that?

Oh, and I hope you and Jimbo are up to speed on all this Steve because I'm bringing it to you to map for me

Probably not worth upgrading to MSII unless you go fot the V3 pcb. New ECU time. I would suggest using what you have initially. Has this actually run on anything mate?

Jims the Mapper, if you need to talk laptops and numbers he's your boy! :D

Anything else, I can have your babies.

Probably be taking this one to FITP, so Jake needs to bring some ear plugs with him :bonkers:

Polycarbs I've already taken a deposit on fella sorry :(

JNE is due a good polishing session and I havn't no time atm.

Gary, You never know mate  but its unlikely as I have just booked 3 sessions at the Classic action day @ Combe in June so, I'm looking at late July for the swap over after the RS Day @ Combe in early July

Just getting as much done as possible for it atm.

I'm not painting the other side of the block tonight, I'm off out on a bike ride :oooh:
But it will be done over the weekend :D
