Re: "K80" ZT - Meh! (18/07)
Isnt that 'Ollie's' Mk5 escort? He is using the white spacer plate too. Why would ford develop a white plate to use, if they already had a casting that was correct for the frs?

Because the FRS manifold is the early manifold which won't fit a Fiesta Bay without modification - it is different to the later two-piece manifold which will fit a Fiesta bay. The TB design changed twice over the years.

Re: "K80" ZT - More Pics (21/07)
I was told the 2 piece plastic inlet manifolds aren't that great at holding boost? Or is this more rumours more than truth ? If I'm honest I haven't looked into it much so this is great info for me as I just got told to use a blacktop inlet

I originally started with the later manifold which still didn't line up with the tb correctly, and then got an earlier manifold

Re: "K80" ZT - Injectors Sealed - IT'S ALIVE! (23/07)
Well, the idea I had paid off. I went for some tighter but chunkier seals and it's cured! I even managed to seal them with the pintle caps fitted too
OEM Ford seals are 7.52 x 3.53 x 14.8mm (ID x CS x OD)
New better ones are 7.0 x 4.0 x 15.2
The difference...
Completed injector:
IT'S ALIVE!
Issues remaining...
- Turbo oil return is leaking pretty badly from the joint at the turbo itself
- Still doesn't idle. I've put a pen top in the old breather intake vac-leak lol.
- Rear brakes are largely ineffective
- ECU needs configuring to a safe driving map
- MOT
Once those are sorted, you might be seeing it at Ford Fair
Oh, the chatter is epic, here's a sample
(clunk at the start = I caught the exhaust)

Re: "K80" ZT - Onboard Video (29/07)
Got it idling today albeit hunting so took it to the end of the estate and back, thought I may as well record a video. Jess recorded it and soiled herself when I booted it so that's why it stops and restarts in the middle
Enjoy

Re: "K80" ZT - Road Legal (07/08)
Thought I'd leave an update saying the car now has an MOT and road tax. I've given it a blast down the road (under 4k) and it goes like fudgekin stink, making 16psi boost. Now I need to calm it down and run it in properly before I blow it up.
Oh, the radiator started leaking though *sigh* More stuff to do!
Unless something bad happens I'll see you guys on Sunday

I'm jealous of your 16psi, but I'm equally paranoid about my map so have only used 3/4 throttle or less really at 10psi!

It's probably a bad thing I even made 16psi on the adaptive mapping! Gonna drive it properly and steadily now before it all goes wrong.
