~nomad~ :That's what I mean mate, same as the escort boys do. I hate the look of bolt on ones tbh, with the big ring around the strut tops

That are invariably held on with self tappers ? :)

Thinks it's funny calling me a dog, won't be funny when he's being made to eat dog s**t for his crimes to forums.

Back on topic, that mount is going to be the nutsack, and quite cool given the amount of old mount we have been able to reuse.

It's even worse when you use a grinder with no guard on. One day me or Dave will lose a finger :s it's the risk you take when u build an awesome car tho!

Nothing has gone on with this for about a week now, I have been very busy setting up a new business venture. We are borrowing a welder thou, so hopefully get the mount in and done next week.

MikeHop - I am not too bothered about bhp figures, as long as its fast on the road. Having said that, over 200bhp with gas seems a sensable goal.

Chaps,
Going back to your cutting disc comment, I use and totally recommend Klingspor. I use the 115mm discs in a mixture of 1mm and 1.5mm thicknesses, and both sizes outlast cheaper brands by as much as 3x times.

get the 1mm slitting discs from BOC, the best ive found so far, if you let the disc do the cutting instead of forcing it, they last ALOT llonger than cheaper ones.

Right, this has kinda sat, had a serious lack of mojo tbh! The engine mount is still not done, just need to get that sorted so I can crack on really.

But I did pick a pair of these up today:

Image

So I whipped the seats out of the ka to compare the runners, the ka ones are a little narrower, so I think they will be removed and somehow fitted to the civic seats.

Thought I would see how the floor was under the carpet though:

Image

Not bad at all, one little bubble which after a scrape and a poke looks to be treatable.

So I tried the seats in to see how they look:

Image

Image

Obviously the seats need a good cleanup, and I am thinking about having the bolsters retrimmed as they are a little worn. But obviously dont need doing just yet!
You have to imagine the car with carpet and black trims / dash etc, but I think they are going to look pretty cool.

I am toying with making this build abit more involved now, and actually changing colour of the car. Will have to see what happens lol

So in light of that I think I am going to go the route of Sportka kit and a colour change.

YES love the sport ka kit

dont worry about ruining the sleeper look, the 8v 1.6 only puts out 95bhp lol, and i think does 60 in about 10 something, the 170 lump will still startle plenty

yeah I think its mental that they never made the sportka in white tbh! I just need to get the cars for the right price, so I can rob the bits I want. Sadly one of them has damage to front bumper and spoiler, which is a little annoying, but the other bits are all good.
