yeah its a good bit of kit, it needs updating though, and a good once over, bottom arms need replacing, brake pipes, angine mounts have perished!
once i ve finished though and gone over it it'll be back to how it was a few years ago!

I love the racing arches and cossie wheels combination. One just like this in the new fast ford, a nice red one. Dont think its running quiet as much power as this one though

Re: Another Ka Turbo- now drives !!!
i ve been busy with the ka last few days, first thing was to give it an oil and filter change as its jus clocked up 1300 miles on the new engine, and im not shore when it was last changed, i also washed it
also another thing that annoyed me about the ka was no boost gauge, i also fitted a new coolant temp gauge i can now see what its boosting and the engine temp whihc does help a little
also i ve chnaged some hoses on the car to silicones as i noticed the std rubber ones had perrished and would collapse under load, i had a few hoses from when my silver ka was a 1600 it came in handy
also gave the engine a clean the chrome came up well
and a little video
enjoy

Re: Another Ka Turbo- 17/4/08 Ka is at For-tunePVE
well the ka has now been repaired, and painted (though the paint work is not perfect to say the least, but will be redone next week ), its back on the road abit dusty but it made its 68 mile trip down to see james and steve at for-tunepve for a few goodies! though getting up at 7 to travel down to somerset and back up to finihs my corgi assement was hard work, but the country side around there unit is brillant some nice roads and lanes! i shall look for ward to the trip back
things include :-
a new stage 2 custom chip from motorsport developments
beige injectors
full set up
with a power run before mods and a power run after mods!
i am currently waiting for the phone call to collect probably be tomorrow afternoon sometime depending on when they can get it in and played with!
power i m not shore, as long as its healthy and it improves from its current tune i'll be happy! feels fun to drive anyways so a good tune im shore will see it alot better
it came with a print of 187bhp 202 ft lbs though after a few discussions with james we think the figures are formed from one of the many inaccurate rolling roads around the country, the fact it supposidly made 187bhp on std blue injectors seems a bit far fetched! so i asked for a run on current tune (165 chip, hyrbid turbo, intercooler etc and 15psi) and then compare the 187 graph to the dd graph, then once the new go faster bits are fitted get a comparison to see an increase, and compare improvements made over the 165 set up
i shall report back as soon as i get news

Re: Another Ka Turbo- 17/4/08 Ka is at For-tunePVE
Small Update
james just rang and informed me of how things are getting on :-
it was making 168bhp on (165 set up) but the run was aborted at just over 4,500rpm due to it running very lean! (good job i had it set up)
then they changed the chip and the injectors and instantly saw an increase to 170bhp but the key thing was that it was fueling correctly all the way up the rev range! this was at 12psi held and 14psi peak
james now has the lovely task of trying to get to the actuator and we have agreed to set the boost up at 17psi peak and 15psi held, (the t2's dont tend to like high boost pressures) so hopefully a few more bhp can be had but so far so good

Re: Ka is at For-tunePVE - 170bhp @ 12 psi, more boost please!
Good news, but is their a chance you could fit a T3 in there or is it really tight???
You get a T3 sg1 in there and you'll see some difference when it comes in on boost

i love ka's that are subtle and properly modified!
is a stuning car and i even like the leather retrim which normally i hate as they never look that factory imho!
well thought out place for the rev counter as well, looks almost factory. cant wait to see this at some of the shows as it is a creit to you repairing it rather than just breaking it or some chive getting there hands on it and ruining it.
