Its only worth putting cam kits in them if you go the whole hog - cams, verniers, and a chip. To get upto RS1800+ spec you need cams, throttle body, verniers, ecu, map sensor and if you`ve got the money get a uni-chip. If you want to speak to a tuner who knows his stuff give Mark at Owen Developments a call and tell him Geoff from Jenkins gave u his number.. 01865-820580. You`re looking at a minimum £1000. A better idea is to get a luminitions throttle body kit for £1400 ish, again Mark can tell u more on this. Or go one further and turbo it!! Depends on yer budget..

Blimey!
Considering I have just spent a grand on my beauty, I don't think I can afford to spend that sort of money again so soon. Any other ideas?

Apart from the basics which you`ve done theres not alot you can do without chipping it first, as the fueling will not be right if you just do the throttle body mod or cams etc.. I`ve now spent in excess of £6000 on my turbo with the costs going up all the time!!.

OK..... what chip?? I've already spoken to superchips, and thats about £150 but only increases the BHP of my car by 8 bhp and torque by 15% is it still worth it? Because if it is, i'll do it!!! (I want my Fiesta to be the maddest around)

Right, you've got a decent car and everyone goes for cams throttleboddies and all that. I would personally go for NITROS. It'll cost u about the same as a chip and cams, it'll give you about 2 -3 times the power and unlike the cams, you can turn it off!! saving petrol!! You can also vary the size of the jets, for an extra 25, 50 or 75bhp more!! My mate had it done on his and its F'kin ballistic. It can beat my fiesty turbo and i've got a modest 187bhp!

GO ON, U KNOW U WANT TO!!!!

Turn it of to save petrol eh? erm, how much is nitrous to buy then? I was under the impression it ain't cheap! good thing is you can disconnect it so you don't need to tell your insurance compy.

Mention nitrous -they'll be in hysterics for ages!

I'm going to have a chat to this tuning person I have been recommended to, and listen to what he has to say. If anyone else knows of people that I can talk to to get ideas and prices then that would be much appreciated.
The mongoose exhaust is just one that I know of that does a cat replacement, I think saw this in Performance Ford.

Thanks again.

A'right bruiser! Nitros is not too expensive! It costs my mate about £30 a month to keep his canister topped up and he uses it quite often! You just have to get a decent supplier.
I'm fitting it to my 900 Fireblade when i come back from Ibiza. weyhey!!!!

So how much is it to have nitrous installed anyway?
Looks as if major developments with my fiesta are out the window as they are far too expensive. Seriously thinking about the uni chip, anyone got one?

After all my research... nitrous is the way to go afterall... I have found a place with the best kit in the world (supposidly) and I can get it for £500 including VAT. And its upgradable to 300 bhp!!! Nice.

Dont go above the 50BHP injectors, they tell you they can up grade to 300bhp injectors, what they dont tell you is that to a standard xr2i 16v it would probably remove its engine by itself in several pieces scattered over an area of about 100m

I've really researched nitrous and decided against it in the end, its alright if you have the 50 bhp injectors, but no more otherwise your engine is under too much pressure and will go.... BANG!

I agree!

Stick with the Uni-Chip and take it from there.

I've already ordered mine!

P.S. Kent Cams aren't expensive and outclass most cams for fezzies! My [ERRR] got an increase of 20bhp on his XR2i!!! It went like lightning!! I AINT KIDDIN!
