KENT CAMS WHICH ONE?

i have recently been looking arround for the next upgarde on my FRST and am wondering if you can put a kent 35 cam in a FRST with no engine management mods and how it would perform kent say it can give up to 26bhp extra is this figure acceptable?
Also has anyone tried a FSE boost valve for the same car ? what are they really like?

I spoke to Ahmed about this for PaulR. His recommendation was not to bother with a CVH35 cam on a std 1600 T2 FRST since it doesn't suit the engine at all. It is apparantly better suited for a 1900 T3 FRST.
One option is a Piper 285T2 cam, the other is Ahmed's own FRST cam.
You will notice a difference with the cam, but without having tweaked the ECU map. But, more of an improvement will be made if you have it remapped to suit.

PaulR has a point - sort of!
If you FRST is bog standard, your money would be far more wisely spent on a decent exhaust (Magnex), bigger intercooler/chargecooler (Pace) and/or Ahmed chip (£450 fitted, with around 170bhp reliably based on using all std components). Don't waste money on stuff like FSE boost valves and dodgy aftermarket air filters - the std Ford parts are more than adequate!!

It also comes down to the mileage of your car, if it has done over 60k it is recommended to change your cam anyway.
I used a "mild" Kent CVH31K cam just to give the engine a little something extra.
As for the 26bhp.......i dont think so.........not on a FRST anyway.
And you dont need the FSE valve, as everyone else has already said
