Kenwood Head units

Postby richard_p88 on Wed Jul 26, 2006 10:12 pm

I've realised that speed will never be the strong point of little 1.1 and so have decided that my money will probably best spent on ICE at the moment rather than alloys and lowering.

I have a kenwod HU in mind as the spec says it puts out 28w rms on each channel, seems pretty huge compared to other HU's i know of.

Does anyone have any experience with kenwood? i'm after this onehttp://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4120.html

I've always had Kenwood headunits and up until this new one have never had any problems.

I got myself a KDC-W7031 about 2 months ago and was pleased with it. Then for no apparent reason the CD's started to skip as soon as I hit so much as a cats eye. IAfter changing discs and getting frustrated I returned to the radio only to find it could=n't pick a thing up depsite on first installation it getting just about everything going. :x The unit is being removed tomorrow evening and being sent back to where it came and be sorted out. Not a happy bunny :x

The other 3 I've had though have been superb though and my KRC-PS-1077R is still working and sounding spot on even though it's about 10 years old

Thanks guys :D Just what i wanted to hear, had a play with it today in halfrauds and was impressed. Just a case of saving my pennies now.

OT: Halfrauds tried charging me £35 for their Ripspeed car mats today, despite the foot high £19.99 sign which was visible form the till. Idiots.

Very pleased with kendwood, not the best but good value for money. Wouldn't go to halfords though, brought mine new from ebay with a years warrenty just the same as buying from a shop just a hell of a lot cheaper.
Mine is mp3 compatable witch is good because i fit 7 albums on 1 cd (witch stop my girlfreind moaning about cd's all over the car :x ) But if you like the bass up full and really loud the quility isnt that great so i just use a normal cd on hardcore songs. It's nice to have the choice tho. Think i paid 85 pounds for mine with postage halfords wanted 140 pounds for the same thing! well worth looking. Dan
