right might be the wrong place to put this ...........
as a few may know iv bin having a faulty ecu problem ,
so had a friend open it up to find some dead diodes in it,
any who had these replaced and its the same , so decided to send it off to a "professional" ecu repair centre ,
who for names sake i wont name just yet ,
any way they rang me yesterday saying no faults found ...........
so just a £49.99 check and send back fee , sounds a bit harsh but its mine and its 'ok' so i want it back.payed on my card job done.

opened the box today from mr postie to find the metal caseing missing from my ecu and what appears to be a crack on the board ...
really not happy - this ecu pi$$ take is costing me more and more money every week ,
rang the ecu place , and couldnt get any sense from them and im now waiting for them to "GET BACK TO ME"

HOW ABOUT YOU GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK ?
you have damaged my "GOOD" or as you said "WORKS" fine ecu and couldnt be bothered puting the case back on ,??!??!?!??!?!?!
i guess i should be thankfull they sent it to the right address???

any ideas ?
trading standards maybe :x :x :x

They haven't sent you your ECU back, that's plainly obvious, probably someone else now has your good, working ECU.

Who was the repairer ? It'll be good to know because if they sort this quickly, that's a good sign in terms of dealing with them (the measure of the service isn't just in getting it right first time, it's also about sorting out your screw ups). Of course if they dick you around, it's useful to know they should be avoided.

Bear in mind that for an engineer to take a look at it will probably take around an hour, so you're probably paying 25-35 an hour for that alone. £50 therefore isn't unreasonable (£41 + VAT) before shipping and packaging is taken out. Puts it bang on at about £30 an hour.

OFT- office of fair trading.

also, contact your bank, or credit card company and speak to them, they may be able to recall the payment or hold it untill something is sorted, but deffo contact OFT as they will give you good advice on this, and if this ECU rebuild compnay trys to fob you off saying they wont do something that OFT has told you that have to, then the OFT will back your case
