do you still use the car on the road much?
rose jointed would be good, but not if your using it daily ase they wear with all the crap of the road apparently
you only really have 3 choices afaik
standard - Cr@p as you say
polly bushed - last time i heard seems to be as much if not more of an issue with these than the gearbox mounts!
rose jointed - as i explained above

in theory they are a stronger more durable rubber
in practice they are usually floored and split, wrong compound, poor design, ive brought some for mine about 18ths ago (second hand but not used) and when they turned up i refused to fit them as they were utter bollox, forget which make though

Get powerflex poly bushes. Never had any problems with mine.
Might be an idea to get them fitted proffesionally, as i whacked them in with a sledgehammer and it was hard work (also i think i could have broken something as a little o-ring popped out )

so can i just take the current arms off and get powerflex poly bushes on them? can you just order a set of pushes for the lower arms only?

you need to order bottom arm front and rear bushes (total of £50 for both sides) then you take your old arms off, get the old bushes pressed out and the new ones pushed in.
i would recommend finding a few people already using them and get reviews first though

Good topic!
I was going to use the rose jointed stuff, but decided against it for a road car. Got to admit i was tempted by the Deflex complete wishbones for £179 per pair ..... but i guess thats a big NO for using them then ?

funny you should mention the deflex arms, i noticed them this morning on theyre sight, they do have aspects of good design (manufactures have quite radically redesigned arms in the past few years) with the solid design as apposed to the old pressed steal spot welded together, obviously in an attempt to improve handling as the sacrafise for weight.
if it was a company other than deflex then i would say they are well worth a try, but you can only judge them on past performance until they are independanly tested. so i would stay clear untill then sadly.

just to add... i was searching to find a pic of the mondern style arms when low and behold a link to mr Excursions topic linked up on google, Mark's using "Sport Ka arms which are cast for strength".
Although they are not of the design i was thinking they look like they could be a good midway point between old and new, and "if" they are a straight fit (which is possible) and most likely have better designed bushes, could well be onto a winner.

I haven't yet got to the lower arms issue, but I know my std ones are not up to the job (even now with the car still on axle stands )
The only this that I need to sort the handling is camber and caster. Camber is easly done but caster... I would need somewhere near 3 positive caster. Any ideas (besides zoo motorsport lower arms)?
Regarding the bushes: the best compromise is the powerflex ones.

I myself have the deflex lower arm bushes:
And they work well on my car (not a daily driver) .. they tend to squick a bit.. but that's all. feel is excelent.. But the installment is a H E L L of a job.. ... and you have to lign them up perfectly...
The rose jointed have to be greased every 7k miles or so .. but heard good stories about them ..
Last year on FITP pumaspeed had some full rubber ones bushes, in stead of the standard bushes (which aren't full rubber) these need to be pressed in the standard arm..

When talking about this I think its best to everyone quote their bhp. Std lower arms (when new) are fine for std FRST bhp, but once you hike the boost... hell breaks loose and the car just torque steers.
Anyone with a 200bhp FRST on powerflex or deflex lower arms bushes?
And are they to coupe with 200bhp when drag racing?
